About Nerd Chronicles
The year was 2010 and I wanted a unique name for my vlogging series on my YouTube channel. I asked on Facebook for suggestions, and Nerd Chronicles was born. Initially the domain just forwarded to my Tumblr page, but as time progressed it made sense to set up a personal blog that I could call my own. Though the theme of this blog is generally a geeky one, I choose to write about topics that are important to me. Not everything I enjoy in life is geek related, so expect to see a wide variety of article topics floating around the site.
I’m a writer, artisan, cosplayer, educator, video game enthusiast, tv & film addict, aspiring cat lady, and modern day vampire. Seriously though. You’d be surprised how often people ask me if I’m an actual vampire.
Currently I am a full-time University student living in Toronto. As I’m new to the area, I hope you enjoy exploring everything the city has to offer with me, and you’ll find some interesting articles on Nerd Chronicles.
How did you get into cosplaying?
I attended my first convention in 2002 with my best friend at the time and my dad. I really had no idea what happened at conventions or what cosplay was, but I was immediately drawn to the scene. There was something about these people making their own costumes and showing them off that excited me. They were so cool. I wanted to create and share my own creations with this community, so I started cosplaying a couple years later. I’ve been attending conventions every year since, and I don’t plan to stop.
What’s some of your favourite video games?
That’s really tough. My favourite series are probably Dragon Age, Mass Effect, Pokemon, and Zelda. Telltale Games make great content too… this questions is too difficult to answer 🙁
What kind of equipment do you use?
I use a Canon 70D with a kit lens for now, and I edit with Adobe Premiere.
